- 1 medium while fish cut into pieces
- 1 medium tomato
- 1 medium potato
- 2 green chilli
- 1 small bunch of coriander
- 1/2 tsp onion seeds,
- 1/2 tsp turmeric,
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder,
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder,
- 1/4 tsp red chilli powder,
- as per taste salt
Steps to make Fish Curry
- Assemble all ingredients
- Marinade fish with salt + turmeric + slight mustard oil and marinade for 10 - 15 minutes, then shallow fry till golden yellow / brown and keep aside.
- Cut potatoes into cubes and marinade in salt for 10 -12 minutes, this process is for faster cooking. Chop tomatoes + coriander and keep aside.
- In a moderately heated kadhai / pan, add 2 tbsp mustard oil, add cumin seeds and allow to sizzle, then add chopped potatoes and stir fry for 2-3 minutes, then add tomatoes + green chilli + all dry spices and stir fry till oil release from spices. Tomato will turn mushy and spices have fried well.
- Now add water of around 1.5 cup for gravy and give a nice boil, then add fried fish pieces and give 3-4 times boil. Lastly add chopped coriander and simmer for 1-2 minutes. Fish curry is ready.
- Serve with hot steamed rice.
