- Sliced onions _ 4large
- cup Shallots _1/2
- tsp Ginger garlic chilli paste _3
- Tomato _2
- Oil
- Ghee
- Cardamom _2

- Bay leaves _2
- Clove _2
- tsp Chilli powder _3
- tsp Coriander powder _1
- tsp Garam masala _1
- Mint leaves and coriander leaves _1 cup
- tsp Raisins and cashews roasted in ghee _5
- Pineapple cubes _2 tsp
- King fish _4 pieces large
- tsp Lemon juice _2
- cup Golden fried onions _1/2
Steps to make Kerala Fish Biryani
- Marinate the king fish with lemon juice,salt, turmeric and chilli powder and keep for 30 minutes
- In a pan pour some oil and shallow fry the fish.keep it aside.
- In a pan add some oil and add the sliced onions and saute well once it's sauted add the ginger garlic chilli paste and saute.into this add the crushed shallots as well.
- Once everything is soft add the chilli, coriander and garam masala and mix well add the tomatoes and saute again.
- Once tomatos are soft add some water and boil well.once it starts boiling add the fried fish and cook under small flame.add half the coriander and mint leaves and cook for around 15 min untill the gravy thickens.
- In a pot add some ghee and add the whole cardamom,cloves,bay leaves and cinnamon sticks.once it's done add the washed and drained biriyani rice and fry it for 5 min.then add 4 glasses of boiled water and close the lid.check the rice after 10 min.if required add more water and cook well
- Take a biriyani pot and place one layer of fish masala in the bottom then add one layer of rice along with pineapple pieces and coriander and mint leaves.then again fish masala and then rice.on the top of rice garnish with fried onions, Coriander and mint leaves and roasted cashews and raisins.
- Add some garam masala and ghee on the top of this decoration and keep the biriyani pot in dum for 15 min(under low flame).
- Open the dum after 15 min and serve hot
