  2. 1 tsp ginger paste
  3. 1 tsp garlic paste
  4. 1/4 tsp turmeric

  8. 1 tbsp tomato puree
  9. 1 tbsp lemon juice

  1. Clean and wash fish.Pat dry.Make slits in pabda or Indian Cat Fish.Assemble all ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Mix turmeric,red chilli powder,semolina,fish fry masala,1 tsp cornflour,ginger garlic paste,lemon juice,curd, tomato puree and salt to taste.Make a thick batter.If needed add 1 tbsp water.Mix well and smear this marinade in fish.
  3. Refrigerate for an hour till semolina soaks moisture in marinade. Dry coat fish first.Then dip in a cornflour slurry and double coat with crumbs.Refrigerate again for at least an hour.
  4. Heat refined oil in a pan and fry fish in medium flame so that the inside is cooked well.Serve hot as a snack with evening tea or appetizer at parties or as a side dish with rice and dal or pulao.
