- 1 can tuna fish or 1 medium fresh piece
- 1 big onion sliced
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 chopped green chilli
- 1 small tomato chopped
- 1/2 small capsicum chopped(optional)
- 1 small eggplant chopped (optional)
- 1/4 th tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- Salt as per taste
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 tbsp black and white sesame seeds
Steps to make Sticky rice roll
- Wash and soak sticky rice for 2 hours
- In a pressure cooker put the soaked rice. Put water just upto rice level.
- Pressure cook it in low flame for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Remove from heat, open the lid and keep aside to cool.
- Heat oil in a pan,add onion. Saute till translucent. Add ginger-garlic paste and chopped chilli. Saute.
- Add chopped tomato and other veggies if you have.
- Fry for 2/3 minutes. Add turmeric powder,red chilli powder and salt. Saute for a minute.
- Add shredded tuna (if you use fresh fish then first shallow fry in another pan, then shred it).
- Mix all the ingredients with a spatula. Cover and cook in low heat for 5 minutes.
- Stuffing is ready now.
- For making the roll first spread a banana leaf or cling film in a clean counter top.
- Spread some black and white sesame seeds.
- Spread the sticky rice in rectangular shape. Press rice with greased hand to make the shape nice and uniform.
- Now spread some fish filling in one side of the rectangle length wise.
- Now hold the banana leaf or cling film and roll the sheet to make a log.
- Press to make the log firm.
- Now slowly remove the leaf/cling film slowly.
- Cut this log with a greased knife into desired lengh.
- Now these sticky rice rolls are ready to enjoy.
