  4. 1/4 tsp salt
  5. 1/2 tsp mustard oil

  7. 1 medium onion chopped
  8. 1 tsp grated ginger
  9. 3/4 tsp grated garlic
  10. 2 green chilli, slit
  11. 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  12. 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  13. 3/4 tsp cumin powder
  14. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  15. as required Salt
  16. as required Chopped coriander
  17. 2 Tbsp mustard oil
  18. 1/2 tsp ponch phu

Instructions to make Hilsa/Ilish Fish Curry

  1. Clean and wash the fish. Marinate with the marinade ingredients mentioned above. After 30 minutes fry the fish.
  2. To the rest of the oil, and I ponch phutan and allow to splutter.
  3. Add chopped onions and fry till transparent. Mix green chillies and ginger-garlic. Saute you rawness is gone.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes and rest other dry masala including salt.

  6. Add a cup of hot water, nix well and allow to boil, covered, for 1 minute. Garnish with green coriander and serve.
